Massdrop Keurig Giveaway~ ends 5/14
PinkMama's Place is excited to join Adventures of 8 and Blog with Mom in a new Advertise with Bloggers Event!
One lucky reader will WIN a Keruig from our friends at Massdrop, the newest way to buy online and save money!
Let me tell you a bit about Massdrop and how you can use this new site to save you MONEY!!! This is unlike any site I have seen before, as it works off of 'group buys' to offer the lowest price and YOU can vote for items you would like to have brought to Massdrop!
This is where it gets really cool; THE MORE PEOPLE THAT PURCHASE the product, the lower the price!!!
Basically, the sale goes on for seven days, it starts at a certain price and as more people purchase the item the lower the price goes, with up to 3 price drops unlocking until the lowest price available is offered... and in the end you will only be billed for the lowest price; cool, right? The funny thing is that when the community worked together for their first Keurig B60 group-buy, they cleared out all of North American inventory in just a few days.
Oh and a really neat thing is that if you don't see a product that you want, as a community member, you can create a product poll for anything from coffee makers cards to homebrew beer kits.
Go sign up for Massdrop now to see how awesome this site is, then come enter to win a BRAND NEW Keurig B60 Single-Cup Home-Brewing System!

Guess Where We Are Eating Tonight? IKEA!
When I told my mom that, she said it sounded strange- eating dinner at Ikea. Really? I'm sure it does to a lot of people but if you have kids that LOVE eating out (not sure if it's because my cooking sucks or just the fun of going out) and it's FREE so I'm all over it! Lil Mama gets the chicken strips and Lil Man gets the meatballs! Good to go and when we leave it's trip downstairs to get dessert~ $1 Frozen Yogurt. I'll probably spend $15 (my meal and candles) and I'm okay with that.
Dad is out of town so I don't have to cook outrageous meals that has all the food groups in it. I'm not a bad mom I just know my kids and they love simple meals. They have already a list going~ Tuna Casserole, Baked Tacos, Chili Dogs, Taco Salad, Salmon Salad, Bagel Pizzas, and Hamburgers. Not too bad- I see salad so that is good.
Kids Eat Free Every Tuesday
Children 12 and under can choose one combo meal valued at $2.99. Offer valid from 11:00am to restaurant close. Limit one meal per child per visit. Child must be present. See participating store for details.Dad is out of town so I don't have to cook outrageous meals that has all the food groups in it. I'm not a bad mom I just know my kids and they love simple meals. So Proud of My Husband!
Today marks an end of the BULLS**T my husband has had to endure at his job, actually the department he has been working in for the past several years. He loves the company he works for but the department head has had it in for my husband since the first day they met. I won't get in the details but let's just say my husband has been treated disrespectfully and down right wrong for the past 6 years.
My husband gets up every Monday through Friday before it is even light out and makes his way to his job. The moment he walks in that door he is ready to work. He does that for his family. If he didn't have us he would have left this job a long time ago because of the way he has been treated. He has been degraded, ignored, and treated like he is nothing from his superior. Last year got real bad and my husband started bringing that crap home. We were all stressed out and it was making life at home difficult. I told him if things don't change he needed to leave this job because it's not doing him or us any good. No job is worth losing your self worth ( I need to follow my own advice- that's another blog post, lol)
Then late last year the company was bought and things started to change. People in charge were now noticing the work my husband was doing and wanting to know more about him. Attitudes were changing drastically and there was more communication going on that was encouraging. Then big news happen that they were going to open a new department. Everyone was telling my husband that he needed to apply for the position but he didn't want to at first because his self esteem was so low he didn't want to put himself through applying and being told he was not capable of the job AGAIN. He has applied for other positions over the years and it was his supervisor that was always doing the hiring so he never got any of the positions. His supervisor didn't want him to grow and basically shut him out of everything positive. Then he got word that his supervisor won't be the one hiring and my hubby jumped on the chance with a lot of support from co-workers and applied!
His interview went awesome and I could tell his confidence was growing. Guess what he got the position, a LEAD position Everyone around him was so proud and told him he deserved it- which he did! His supervisor still hasn't congratulated him and actually made his last week there suck. But he now can leave this department that has suffocated him for years and rise up to be that confident man he is meant to be! This position is a life changer for us is so many ways. First, it came with a BIG TIME raise. He won't be held down anymore and that is the best thing because that was slowing killing my husband's moral. We knew this year something had to change and thank goodness it changed the way it did.
Bad thing is he has to leave us for 3 weeks to train but we will get through this and look forward to what this year will bring!

My Little Girl Turns "9" This Week
Oh my where as the time went! Sahara turns 9 in less then a week and I can't believe it. She has been my shinning light ever since she was born. She keeps me going every day that's for sure.
The day she was born was very emotional for all of us. It was a planned C-section so we knew when she was coming but we didn't know she would be born with two extreme clubfeet. The first day of her life she was put in casts- from top of legs to her toes. This was very emotional and we had no idea what to expect. The Dr told us she might not walk because of how extreme her feet were turned in. So the next 2-3 years were a lot of casting, couple surgeries, a lot of Dr Appt's, braces, and a lot of tears. We do physical therapy now. Today she still has a bit of a pigeon toe run and can't put down one of her feet all the way but she is not letting anything stop her. So proud of her and her determination.
I'm so proud of my almost 9 year old she ROCKS and I'm looking forward to what she is going to do in the years to come.
