March Is National Frozen Food Month~TIPS

Even if you’re not an extreme couponer, you can still strategize your grocery shopping to save money. Time is another important thing to save.

Coupon site BeFrugal.com founder Jon Lal offers this advice:

1.       Make a list. This basic strategy saves a ton of time and money. One simple way is to use the notes feature of your smartphone and add items to your list as you realize you need them. Since we usually have our phones with us 24/7, the list is easy to manage. When you shop stick to the list to save lots of time and money.
2.       Check your grocery store’s weekly ad in advance. Sunday flyers are available online, so you do not need to buy a paper or wait until Sunday. Look at it online whenever you want and review the sale items while comparing that to your list.
3.       While you are looking at the sales online, now is a perfect time to find coupons for items that are already on sale. Get grocery coupons online; quickly search for the items you have on your list or see as being on sale in the grocery store’s flyer then print them out and you are ready to shop. This eliminates clipping coupons and keeping coupons you may never need in a bulky binder.
4.       Stock up (if you can). Some grocery stores will be having big sales on frozen foods in honor of Frozen Food Month. As discussed in the tip above, you can also get grocery coupons for these items to get additional savings. If your freezer is already full or you do not need these items, skip them – even if they are on sale. It’s not a bargain if you cannot use it!
5.       Consider buying groceries online. In addition to some grocery stores offering online orders and delivery, you can often get great deals buying items online (and getting free shipping on them, of course) when you use promo codes and earn cash back – this is a portion of your total that gets deposited into a free account for you – especially when buying items which grocery coupons are rarely offered on and nonperishable foods. Don’t rule out getting grocery store delivery, either. While there may be a fee of $6-10 for delivery, it may be worth it to you, depending on how much time it can save you.

I did YOGA for the first time!

I'm not sure why I haven't done it before maybe it was too healthy, lol!   Wow, on how I felt afterwards though.  I felt like I was walking on clouds and almost sang all the way home.  I can really get into this!

The class was hard only because my body wasn't used to bending, moving, and stretching in so many different ways.  Next week it will be better, right!  Also I need to work on right and left. Yes, I know my right and left but when someone is calling out stretch your right leg then put your left arm on right knee I get so confused.

The teacher, who is a friend of mine, did warn me I would feel a little sore today.  She was right.  I even took a couple extra minutes in the shower to let the massage hit my shoulders and back.  But I feel good and looking forward to going back next week.

I will have to read up on my YOGO JARGON though because I didn't know any of the poses the teacher was talking about.  I would look around the class to see what everybody else was doing.   What the heck is Downward Dog, Warrior, Half Moon, Cobra, Eagle and I'm sure there were more but I forgot them now!

I will be at Forest Yoga  with my girl Aviva-Breathe In Love  at 7:30pm next Tuesday!

    Kids and Homework- Oh My!

I feel like I'm back in school and I have no idea WTF to do!  My 5th grader is bringing home math homework that looks foreign to us.  My husband and I both look at each other as to see who can help our child but we both know we can't.  It's straight crazy!  I'm thinking in the 5th grade either I was flirting with the boys too much or I actually got it back then.

Last night it was my turn to help with homework so I looked at the page and just went blank!  I looked at the examples and them proceeded to do it, hoping I was right.  After going through the steps with my son at least 5 times he still didn't GET IT.  My patience by this time was gone because I feel he was using me to do his homework.  I gave him to his dad at this point, using the "I need to make dinner" excuse.  Dad didn't even understand so the child was left doing it on his own which ended up being 3 hours of "I don't understand" fit. He wouldn't even give it a try- he just wanted US to do it for him and I wasn't falling for it again!  We tried to reason with him and I think he was super tired but just wouldn't calm down.  At that point (it's 8:30pm  and we have been doing this since 4:30) I gave up and told him I would wake him up early so we can tackle it then.

    Why is homework so STRESSFUL!!!!
